B.Sc. in Civil or Materials Engineering or a related field
Seven years in estimation and procurement out of which 3 years in a managerial position, Experience in the construction industry
Professional knowledge of best construction practices, material specifications, and costs, knowledge of market price trends and variations, Knowledge of contract administration and management
Ability to prioritize the load and shift attention among changing tasks and priorities, Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment and decisions, Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely; spoken and written,
Development of the section’s work plan; distributing and following-up on work activities, projects and programs, monitoring work flow and reviewing work methods and procedures. Suggesting plans and programs that strive to boost the effectiveness of the Section.
Conducting periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear and actions are running smoothly. Supervising the preparation of cost estimates, preparation of Tender Queries to be forwarded to Client in a timely manner that would prevent any delays or bottlenecks to the Tendering process. Reviewing and evaluation of quotations compiled by Material Section Head. Participating in the selection process of vendors and subcontractors and prices to be used in Cost Estimate. Ensuring that Direct Cost fully complies with the Tender Documents. Preparation of Tender Clarifications, exceptions/ assumptions or qualifications. Preparation of alternative solutions, value engineering ideas & costing the same.
