Job Description
Analyze specific organizational, procedural or system issues or problems to determine recommendations for software specification, documentation, and programming:
• Design: of applications, reports, interfaces, data extracts, customizations, subsystems;
• Develop: applications, reports, interfaces, data extracts, customizations, subsystems;
• Modification: evaluation of existing software or systems for programming of enhancements;
• Support: ongoing maintenance and/or modifications in support of PRMO software to include, but is not limited to, applications, reports, interfaces, data extracts, customizations, subsystems;
• Testing: of software for appropriate functioning to include debugging as needed;
# Analyze organizational data needs and existing data stores then design, develop, and administer appropriate data structures such as data marts and data warehouses to meet business goals
# Proactively integrate with internal and external customers to exchange, accept and formally communicate information pertaining to recommended solutions to meet needs related to changing healthcare technology methodologies used within Duke PRMO and Medicine;
# Assist in prioritizing, planning, monitoring and assigning resources and delivery dates to PRMO IT tasks and projects;
# Assist in testing and implementation of Alpha or Beta software version releases;
# Assist in efforts related to documenting, testing, training and implementation;
# Represent PRMO IT at internal and external user groups and other professional gatherings and meetings;
# Provide formal and impromptu written and oral presentations and consultations to internal and external customers as they relate to the use of existing systems & interfaces, including implementation of new system functionality and flows;
# Provide frequent, detailed status updates to PRMO IT and/or PRMO representatives related to assigned tasks and projects;
# Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
IDX is a must. HCO(Health care Objects) is preferred
Minimum Qualifications
Education
# Four-year college degree in computer science and/or related experience in an information technology environment.
Experience
# Minimum of five (5) years experience in the area of developmental and support programming
# Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 solutions including database design, stored procedures, T-SQL, and administration. Migration experience helpful.
# Prefer GE Centricity Business (formerly IDX) application and healthcare experience.
# Prefer GE Centricity Business Healthcare Objects (HCO) experience.
# Prefer experience with database platforms.
# Proven experience in handling day-to-day technical and support operations for an IT group.
# Proven ability to function and effectively communicate in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
# Experience in proactively identifying business and information system issues, suggesting efficient resolutions and ensuring timely follow-up.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
# Prefer knowledge of GE software to include, but not limited to, version 4.0 or higher of the Flowcast Solution suite and the Healthcare Objects API (HCO).
# Expert programming knowledge in M[UMPS] preferred.
# Prefer working and/or expert knowledge of Cach� ObjectScript.
# Prefer Java with RAD (Rapid Application Development) experience (used in support of IBM Webspher)..
# Ability to prepare presentation materials and deliver presentations.
# Ability to quickly learn assigned information system(s).
# Ability to proactively assume responsibility for assigned tasks and projects, seeing these through to completion with no supervision. |
