<H4>The Opportunity:</H4> Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Automation Engineer position located in Genoa, Italy. SEL is a global manufacturer that provides products and services for the protection, control, automation, integration, communications and metering of electric power systems for industrial and utility markets and have an immediate need requirement for an Integration Application Engineer.
You must be eligible to live and work in Italy. If you have a minimum of three years of integration and automation applications experience with the utility, industrial and/or engineering firm, this may be the position for you!
<H4> Automation Engineer </H4>Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in electric power system automation and a working level of technical expertise in electric power system protection.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system protection and automation.
- Perform system integration design, system automation design and HMI design and implementation as part of a project team.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of successful proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems. Be a secondary customer contact on primarily technical matters. Work within the project team to resolve customer concerns and foster customer satisfaction.
- Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
- Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
- Assume Project Management role on assigned projects.
- Follow and improve applicable processes.
- Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development activities.
Qualifications:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum three years relevant experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation system practices
- Good knowledge of international system integration and automation applications, including applicable communication protocols and communication technologies
- Working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applications
- Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
- Experience with HMI design and implementation
- Willing to travel internationally up to 40%
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systems
- Experience being a part of project teams
