The successful candidate will have been engaged in Structural Engineering for at least 15 continuous years. Apart from the requisite academic qualifications, the ability to quickly assess the integrity of a design with respect to completeness and practicality is essential. It is expected that the facility to read and gauge the quality of design will have been developed in the course of a career that has involved both Design production and (to a greater extent) contracting. A varied, but nonetheless in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Structural Engineering, both Technical and (to a lesser extent) contractual will be required.
The position to be filled is with the Qatar based ‘Technical Services Team’, a specialist unit operating within the Project Management / Construction Management Division of a International Consultants. The individual members of the Technical Services Team’ will come from the various construction disciplines to contribute to a multi-practice unit.
The Technical Services Team exists to provide to the client a globally internal reference body that measures and checks the services and products the client proposes to deliver against Bench marks of consistency and excellence. The Technical Services Team operations presently cover North Africa and the Middle East as well as Egypt, China and India.

(B. Sc. or equivalent) and appropriate Institutional affiliation (ASCE, I.Struct.E, ICE etc)
A fluency in spoken and written English and the ability to write, explain and implement procedures will be expected, as will a reasonably high level of Computer competence. |
