My client, a Russian based company operating in the Construction Industry are currently looking to recruit a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) on a 6 – 9 month contract basis.
The successful candidate will be mediating between the 3 parties involved in this mixed-use development project; a Russian developer, International bank and International Investor. Some key tasks may include:
· managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures, such as residential developments, sports stadiums, roads and bridges, schools, hospitals, offices and factories;
· undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
· assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
· performing risk and value management and cost control;
· advising on procurement strategy;
· preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities;
· identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
· preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
· allocating work to subcontractors;
· providing advice on contractual claims;
· analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
· valuing completed work and arranging payments;
· maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
· understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English & Russian and the ability to also speak German would be an advantage. An education or trained background in Quantity surveying or Cost engineering is also essential.
My client is looking for the successful candidate to start at the end of July/beginning of August 2009 and is offering an excellent rate of pay
