Our client
Our client is an industry leader in solving the world`s most pressing water reuse, industrial, irrigation, municipal, and drinking water needs. Our client is seeking a talented organic chemist, chemical engineer, or material scientist to discover and develop advanced polymeric membranes for purifying fluids, including water desalination and solvent separations. Responsible for developing next generation membranes through synthetic materials science and engineering, advanced analytical characterization and modeling.
Responsibilities
Leads projects and initiatives with significant scope and impact to the business or is a recognized expert in a specialized field. Responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications.
•Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
•Recommends approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
•Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments.
•Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
•Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization.
•Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
•Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
•Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.
•Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments.
•Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
•Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
•Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Requirements:
•ph.D. In chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science, 3 years experience preferred
• Innovator with a proven ability to develop novel polymers and materials
•Successful track record of meeting commitments & delivering results
•Solid statistical, data analysis, and scientific method skills
•Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Individuals should have expertise in several or all of these key areas:
• Small molecule, monomer and polymer synthesis
•Thin film membrane fabrication (RO, NF, PV, Gas)
•Porous membrane fabrication (MF, UF)
• Coating process development
•Transition of laboratory and pilot preparations to a manufacturing process
•Material & performance characterization including SEM, HPLC, GC, QCM, NMR, FTIR, AFM, porosimetry, DSC, TGA, and DMA
