Sales Manager – US Animal Nutrition
Client: Our client is a progressive, privately held, European based manufacturer of innovative additives to the animal nutrition market. They have a history of success based on a philosophy of providing the most value to their customers through product quality and reliability. This company is proud of their leading edge product development capabilities, allowing them to quickly react to changing customer requirements. Their products bring a real competitive advantage to the market because of their complex technicality.
Requirements: Our client requires a Sales Manager to develop and manage sales of their portfolio of additives to the animal nutrition market throughout the US. The Sales Manager will work out of an office in his/her home. The ideal location for a candidate to reside would be in close proximity to agricultural markets as well as a major airport. Important aspects of this position include building strong relationships with customers; providing customers with product, sales, service and training; forecasting product sales. This is a new position that reports to the Corporate Director of Sales in Europe.
What We Are Seeking In a Candidate:
• Ability to increase revenue, brand awareness, and market share
• 4 year degree in agronomy or veterinary science; PHD a plus
• 8 to 10 years sales experience in the animal nutrition, or related, market
• Familiarity with the beef/pork/poultry industries
• Ability to analyze, memorize, and summarize technical and sales data
• Experience in directing sales and marketing initiatives
• Self driven result oriented individual
• Persistence
• Good communication skills, both with customers and European parent
• Creative mindset – innovative thinker
• Ability to work autonomously
• An individual of high integrity and ethics; trustworthy
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/French an asset
• Ability to travel with frequent overnight stay
Responsibilities:
• Define and implement sales strategy by product line for US market
• Provide Corporate office with competitive analysis
• Visit current customers and prospects in order to develop sales
• Generate sales and consistently develop new leads while making sure current customer’s needs are well addressed (i.e. discover expectations that have not been satisfactorily met)
• Follow up with US dealers regarding sales, technical and financial issues
• Identify and partner with new dealers and avenues of distribution
• Be part of major sales negotiations between dealers and strategic customers
• Negotiate terms of sale in compliance with corporate policy
• Implement contract terms with dealers in accordance with policy and laws that may apply
• Work well with existing partners (including universities) and clients
• Identify potential public entities that traditionally assist new business operation
