Process Engineer
An International, capital equipment manufacturing company with headquarters located in the mid west is seeking to hire a Process Engineer. This position is responsible for implementation of a full manufacturing line for liquid-egg processing equipment, in a GMP environment. This position will own all process requirements and design improvements, and will provide maintenance for the entire manufacturing line. In addition, this position has responsibility for full process integration throughout the processing line.
The individual selected for this opportunity will be someone who is currently working or has previously worked in “food-processing, dairy and/or liquid/beverage” industries in addition to someone with exceptional engineering skills, exhibiting excellent leadership qualities, and possessing a strong understanding of (cGMP) manufacturing principles and technical capabilities to match.
This position supports the company’s new start up division and requires “extensive” domestic and international traveling (60% - 80%). Position reports to the Director of Technology.
The incumbent will be responsible for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of liquid egg processing equipment. This includes sharing insights and improvements with the engineering department members, as well as participating in design reviews. Set up on new equipment and service on existing equipment requiring significant travel in all regions of the world to service egg processing equipment. Troubleshooting, assembling and operating mechanical and electrical components of the different systems.
Duties will include daily reviews of operations, working on projects to improve process yields, throughput, quality, up-time. Includes designing and supporting product manufacturing lines. |
| Habilidades: |
• BS/MS degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering required
• At least 5-7 years of process engineering experience in a food liquid manufacturing including experience with USDA, FDA regulations, cGMP, ISO and SPC required
• Experience/proficiency in AutoCAD
• Possess strong mechanical equipment knowledge of various liquid processing equipment and fluid process equipment design
• Knowledge of equipment involving heat exchange and refrigeration
• Working knowledge of liquid process theory, familiar with flow simulation software and able to interpret output data
• Solid understanding of all electrical and mechanical concepts
• Skilled in troubleshooting and optimization of equipment utilization and maintenance
• Experience with CIP procedures with working experience of pumps, fluid process equipment designing, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience in food and/or other beverage industry with knowledge of FDA requirements
• Strong background in electrical wiring and equipment interfaces, PLC programming
• Proficiency with standard office software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
• Demonstrable record of achievement in identifying and implementing revenue-generating and/or cost-saving capital improvements, revamps, or modifications that will optimize production efficiency
• Experience with Equipment includes heat exchangers, blending systems, storage tanks, packaging equipment, spray driers, separation equipment, control systems, and utilities systems
• 60% – 80% domestic and international travel required
• “Multi-lingual” skills highly preferred
• Experience using Lean Manufacturing techniques is also desirable
• Open willingness to work in the field during the first year of training, including training at the Spokane office
• Physically capable in doing long hours of manual labor during initial training period and willingness to assist installation technicians whenever in the field
• Willing to accept that the job in the future years will also require some field work and travel
• Good understanding of US and foreign engineering scales and measurements
• Good basic understanding of electrical to mechanical interfaces
• Willingness to take the initiative for self-education to speed up the training process and to bring new dimensions to the position
• Basic understanding of microbiology
• Experience in equipment cost pricing
• Ability to generate equipment fabrication prints
