Our client is a leading Australian property and construction contractor with a strong history of delivering large and complex design and construct projects across the eastern seaboard. Despite the current economic downturn they are continuing to win major projects due to their strong brand and impressive reputation for delivering quality outcomes for their clients.
Due to their sustained gowth they are now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager to join their Canberra business. They have a particular interest in recruiting a British trained Quantity Surveyor from a head contractor background and can facilitate the necessary Australian visa and relocation requirements.
You will be responsible managing the comercial aspects of major projects to $150 Million AUD. This includes supporting the branch Commercial Manager with head contract negotiation as well as monitoring and mitigating commercial risk in the sub contracts. The role is also entails managing and developing junior administrators and fostering a culture of ongoing training and development. This is a leadership role and applicants must be able to demonstrate an optimal level of communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise, negotiate and work closely with all the internal and external stakeholders of the business.
You must have significant experience working with a major contractor that delivers large projects and be used to operating within a professional environment with sophistiacted systems and processes.
On offer is a salary to $170.000 plus bonuses. As mentioned my client will offer the successful candidate full visa support and assistance with relocation. It must be stressed that my client is not looking for an ex patriot but someone who is serious about emigrating and staring a new life in Australia.
The role is based in Canberra, however as they have operations in several states in Australia, relocation within the company to another state can be facilitated for the right person after a minimum term of two years is spent in Canberra.
