Plastics Manufacturing Operator PositionsMinneapolis, MN Rare opportunity to make an immediate impact and join an industry leader! Conwed Plastics is a global company, specializing in total netting solutions, from concept to commercialization. Headquartered in Minneapolis, we manufacture a complete line of high-performance plastic netting used in major markets ranging from consumer packaged goods to building material. We are a progressive, profitable company with five manufacturing facilities in Minneapolis, MN, West Chicago, IL, Roanoke, VA, Athens, GA, and Genk, Belgium. This position would be located at our Minneapolis, MN location. Operators will be responsible to efficiently and safely operate production equipment, including set up, start up, effective use, product/tooling changes, monitoring & testing, and production reporting. This facility currently operates on a 24/ 5 schedule 8- hour shifts and may return to a 24/7 schedule, 12 hour shifts. The 8-hour shifts run Monday – Friday, 24 hours per day, 3 shifts per day. The 12-hour shifts run 7 days a week, 2 shifts per day, day shift runs 7am to 7pm, night shift runs 7pm to 7am. 12-hour shift employees are scheduled as follows, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on 3 days off. In a 14-day period, an employee works 7 days. Employees are expected to have the ability to work a reasonable amount of overtime. | Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to maintain a good attendance record. • Ability to work safely. • Ability to lift 30-40 lbs routinely (5-10x/hr) and 40-70 lbs occasionally (1-4x/hr). Core Competencies: • Mechanical and/or production background (experience or training in plastics preferred). Post-secondary training preferred. • Ability to operate a forklift truck. • Some computer experience (keyboarding skills). • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Basic mathematical skills. • Read and comprehend English. |
