| Hope Development Volunteers is looking to recruit a Marketing Executive to help in the marketing strategy. Thousands of people are anxious to donate their time and abilities but become frustrated because they don’t know where their talents are needed. At the same time, hundreds of African non-profit organizations are seeking competent volunteers to enable them to carry on their very important work. As a service organization, HDV has a dual role: providing the solutions for both the volunteer and the not-for-profit organizations. HDV is, in fact, a matchmaker. We assure a good organization-volunteer match by gathering pertinent information about both prospective volunteers and non-profit organizations. Hope Development Volunteers is a service organization with a dual role: serving both the needs of volunteers and not-for-profit organizations in Africa. As a matchmaker HDV matches volunteers with the NGO | non-profit organizations in Africa that need them. HDV runs a Volunteer Referral Service that assists not-for-profits to find the right volunteer for the right volunteer placements. MISSION STATEMENT: HDV is a not-for-profit organization established to function as an effective liaison in Africa between volunteers and non-profit organizations in need of volunteer services. Such organizations include health and human services, arts and cultural institutions, and community services among others. HDV is committed to providing an effective service to refer as many volunteers as possible. WHAT WE DO: HDV –Referral Center connects volunteers with organizations that need them. We also do online advertising for Hotels, Tourism Agencies, Car Hire Agencies, Tourism sites etc. We are a membership organization and only promote volunteer placements and accommodations that are run in Africa. This web-based project is dedicated to supporting development, through linking volunteers and organizations. Hope Development Volunteers’ Volunteer Referral Service seeks to meet the needs and expectations of two customers: • Our member partners – who can provide us with information about the volunteer positions they can offer; • Prospective volunteers – who come to us seeking information about suitable positions available in Africa. Hope Development Volunteers is looking for a long-term (12-24 months) Marketing Executive. Presently, we have a limited staff constantly juggling meetings and projects and are in need of a motivated individual designing and supervising operations. We are a young organization covering East Africa with our services of “Connecting developmental volunteers to Meaningful Projects in Africa” and we have our base in Mukono-Uganda. We currently operate in Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya. Currently, we are preparing for a large expansion and would like to hire someone with proven experience in management, sales and marketing experience. The Marketing Executive will be a member of the management staff within Hope Development Volunteers. You are to establish a strong relationship between our services and the clients we are targeting with the ultimate objective of enhancing the profile of the brand and encouraging customer loyalty. You are to help in conducting detailed analysis of competitor and market activities and develop marketing strategies that are aimed at achieving optimum brand positioning and effective pricing. A marketing campaign will generally involve the use of a wide range of promotional or advertising techniques, including mail shots and press releases, with new ideas generated to ensure that the service reaches the largest possible audience. A Marketing Executive is responsible for managing close relationships with our clients to ensure that they have a full understanding of our brand and its future direction. You may be required to work extra hours in the run up to a campaign launch and travel may be involved in order to participate in exhibitions and service launches. Requirements: Excellent communication skills are essential as networking is a fundamental part of the job. The Marketing Executive need to be creative with an ability to generate new ideas and initiatives while possessing strong analytical skills to ensure the accurate interpretation of competitor and market activities. A degree level preferably in Marketing, Business, Economics or International Relations. Additionally skills in Advertising. Responsible, self-starter, punctual, independent worker & attention to detail Effective verbal & written communication Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Power Point & Publisher) Graphic & web design skills a plus Language: English but other fluency in other languages is an added advantage Other Responsibilities include: Managing service launches, developing brand images, and planning and implementing full marketing plans. Channeling markets, sales enablement and building alliances and partnerships with other organizations and firms. Other benefits: Accommodation is provided freely.
