| 6 Months Environmental Volunteering in the Caribbean In March 2012 a new Project was born in St Vincent, a small island in the Eastern Caribbean : the Climate Compliance Conference. At Richmond Vale Academy – a school that trains volunteers to go to development projects – a big project was started. The goal of the 10-year project is to make St Vincent the first country in the world that is climate compliant. I other words, the plan is to make this island completely prepared for the dangers of climate change. During the 6 months you will work with the following projects : - Sustainability - Organic farming, - Self-sufficiency - Risks and effects of Global Warming in the Caribbean. - Mitigation strategies - Renewable Energy - Mobilizing communities - Project Development - … Through research, planning, creation and implementation of projects in communities on the island, and by example, you will work to prepare the people of the Caribbean for the dangers of Global Warming. During the 10 years, every 6 months a new team of volunteers will take over certain projects from previous teams, and start up new projects, all related to Global Warming.
