 Responsibilities- Pay bills - Reconcile accounts - Keep financial records in QuickBooks and produce monthly financial statements -- must have a clear understanding of GAAP accounting principles - Submit Medicaid billing and reconcile payments - Track attendance including leave time and submit payroll - Manage vendor services - Work with auditors, board and staff - Maintain schedules and services to keep functions within offices and program operable - Maintain filing of all documents/invoices within financial department - Maintain inventory of office supplies - Have flexibility to address other program needs as they arise Expectation is that Accounting Specialist will work side-by-side with Threshold’s client members to accomplish the above tasks. Ultimate responsibility for correct accounting and billing lies with the Account Specialist. 30 hours per week. Position includes benefits and prorated leave time. | |

| Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | EDUCATION: Relevant Bachelors Degree preferred; Relevant Associate’s Degree accepted with 4-5 years relevant experience. EXPERIENCE: Two to three years of relevant office manager/ administrative/ accounting experience including experience billing Medicaid required. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Competencies in the use of a personal computer (Microsoft Office including Excel/QuickBooks/data base management); organizational abilities; prioritization skills; ability to develop productive relationships with adults with severe and persistent mental illness; ability to produce in a fast paced environment; ability to exercise responsible decisions and sound judgment. Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to work amicably and professionally as part of a team. LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: Valid NC driver's license required/must be insurable. OTHER: Human services/nonprofit experience preferred, mental health/community support program/Clubhouse model experience desirable. Must be able to perform all duties and tasks of position and pass criminal background check, Health Care Registry check and be insurable. First Aid training, CPR certification and NCI training will be available. |
