Company Information:  Multi-faceted business (including real estate, travel, information, recreation, automotive, business coach/consultant, author, marathon runner and speaker) headquartered in western Montana and run by a President/CEO who is an entrepreneur with 20+ years of business experience.
Objectives: To build the intern’s verifiable skills and hands-on experience as they publish books on various platforms, research competitors and pricing strategies, and assist in the creation of new materials while at the same time improving the company’s overall visibility within the marketplace.

Areas of Primary Focus:
• Promote and market company through publishing content on various digital platforms.  
• Research, review, and study information regarding different publishing platforms, how to         publish digitally and the creation of new content.  
• Assist President in creating new materials for publishing.  
• Research online competitors and publishing strategies.

You will benefit the business by assisting in and creating opportunities for the President to expand her visibility through the publishing and creation of digital books that target heart-centered entrepreneurs.  You will develop your writing, communication, editing, management, marketing, promotion, and research skills by working to increase the visibility of the president and company within the digital realm.  You will publish materials with appropriate digital formatting technique, help to create new digital books and access your creative side by doing some graphic designing.    

You will be able to work virtually from home with daily email check-ins, check-outs and once-a-week phone meetings so you won’t have to spend time or money commuting. You will be able to attend Training/ Workshops/ Teleclasses/ Events to further enhance your expertise in the Publishing and Writing arenas.

You will get to work directly with the President, honing your professional skills and getting exposure to the inner workings of a growing company. Not only will you have gained vital mentoring and invaluable work experience to position you head and shoulders above your competition in the tight job market, but at the end of your successful internship, you will also have bona fide materials showcasing your talents and experience to use in your portfolio, as well as a reference letter from the President/CEO,  a President who understands first-hand the position of an intern because she was able to successfully complete not one, not two, but three different intern positions throughout the course of her career.

Timeline:  Minimum of 8 hours per week, up to a max of 36 hours per week dependent upon your schedule. Prefer at least 13 to 14 week commitment, but will consider shorter or longer terms.

Compensation: Unpaid internship. Academic credit will be arranged for those requiring it.

Position Requirements
Skills / Industry Qualifications Required:
Ideal Candidate: Looking for 2 or 3 PDC interns - local or virtual. For this position, we are seeking enthusiastic, organized, outgoing, self-directed “writers” looking to improve their writing/publishing/editing skills and knowledge.  Someone who has writing skills, people skills, communication skills, and general and internet-based computer skills (Ex: familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, Google searches, Social Networking Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).  You do not need previous experience publishing or with the different digital publishing platforms because we will train you, but obviously a general familiarity with basic digital publishing platform concepts will be of tremendous benefit in getting you off to a fast start in your new internship position.  You must be available at least 8 hours/week and have a reliable computer and internet access. Most Creative Writing, English, Communication, Journalism, Media Arts, and Marketing majors will find this job exceptionally rewarding!  Please have the ability to follow directions, communicate via email and phone daily, employ excellent phone skills, work independently, either locally or virtually, and stay organized.  Your background, work experience and major are not as important as your demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm and positive attitude.
Education Level Required: College
