Primary Responsabilities The Transmission Engineer is responsible for: •Analyze customer product issues within released applications, •Network planning, installation and network commissioning, network configuration, •Test and conduct circuits at various transmission rates, •Operations and Maintenance of WDM transmission equipment, •Optical fiber cable fault repair activities in coordination with cable ship, •Implement new projects and provide necessary support. | Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | •4-5 years experience in Telecommunications field, •Minimum of 3 years experience in Transmission architecture (WDM) with detail planning in mobile telecommunication networks backaul & Backbone (2G,3G UMTS). Specific Competencies The selected candidate would combine a strong technical background with great organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented, self-motivated individuals bringing a strong ability to troubleshoot problems. Inspired by the desire to understand the details involved in effectively deploying critical software and hardware and playing a key role in challenging environments. •Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English (written and oral), •Good synthesize and communication skills to extract the right information to communicate, •Planning and organizing skills, •Knowledge of business plans, customer requirements, and markets. Technical skills As a Transmission Engineer- your skills and qualifications will ideally include: •Experience troubleshooting fiber optic issues, •Fundamental knowledge on 2G/3G/HSPA technologies and concepts, •Broad technical appreciation of Transmission, ATM and Ethernet technologies in a mobile operator environment, •Technologies such as E1/T1, ITU & 3GPP protocol specifications, •Strong knowledge of the following technologies: DWDM, SONET/SDH, IP/MPLS/Ethernet, SNPM and TL1, •Network interfaces such as A-Interface, Gb, Gn, GP, luCS, luPS,lur, lub, Nc, Mc, etc, •Hardware and Software such as SUN/Oracle servers, Linux/Unix and Windows Servers, Gnome and other X-Windows apps, •Strong understanding of fixed, mobile and converged Telecommunication networks, |
