Home Health Care Nurse:
Home Health Care Nursing is a growing area, as
more and more patients prefer to receive care in
their own homes. Home Health Care Nurses are
registered nurses, who often provide follow-on
care after a patient is discharged from a
hospital or health care centre.
Some duties of Home Health Care Nurses include:
- Dressing wounds
- Educating patients and families on medications
- Advising patients on diet and other factors
that would lead to a healthy recovery
- Allowing the patient to maintain independence
- Caring for patients with acute illnesses,
disabilities or terminal illness.

Home Health Care Nurses can work in Hospital
settings, assisted living centers, nursing
homes, along with travelling to patients homes.
Qualifications:
To become a certified home health care nurse,
you will need to study an academic program in
home care. Many nursing institutions work
closely with home health agencies placing
qualified nurses in suitable positions. It is
important to check that the institution you
choose has a successful track record in placing
Home Health Care Nurses in regular employment.
