This label guarantees the quality of education, the diversity of learning resources and the richness of cultural environment.
The “Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne” (French Language and Civilization Courses of the Sorbonne) are organized by the Fondation Robert de Sorbon, the successor to the Société des Amis des Universités de Paris (SAUP) .
In 1919, in the aftermath of World War I, this organization (whose goal is to promote French culture) created the French Language and Civilization Courses of the Sorbonne. The earliest students were primarily Americans. Since that time, the program has expanded substantially and has opened up to students from throughout the world.
CCFS headquarters are located in the Sorbonne. Between eight and nine thousand students attend the university every year. These students come from all over the world - almost 130 nationalities are represented. Currently, the countries with the strongest presence are those where English, German, Brazilian, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, or Swedish is spoken.
