ACCA
This qualification enables you to become a Chartered Certified Accountant. Limerick College of Business Studies ACCA Professional Programme preparation course is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience. The syllabus is a result of extensive research and consultation with governments, students, colleges and employers from a range of public and private sector organisations and aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge, skills and techniques required by the modern professional accountant. Available on a Full-Time and Part-Time basis.
Programme Structure
The syllabus is divided into three stages: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and PROFESSIONAL. Sixteen subjects are covered in total and students are required to pass fourteen papers [unless exemptions apply] to complete the course.

CAT
CAT-Certified Accounting Technician Course prepares students for the examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Available in Full-Time and Part-Time basis.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic qualifications necessary to register. If you have no academic qualifications, you will be expected to complete all three Levels of the Certified Accounting Technician examinations. Holders of certain qualifications may receive exemptions from some of the papers.. You may claim exemption from the Introductory Level exams if you satisfy the one year's practical work experience requirement and can verify this by completing your Technician Training Record (TTR), which will be sent to you when you have registered as a CAT student. This course prepares students for the examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Course Content
For the CAT qualification you will complete nine exams, split into three Levels. These are all designed to test the knowledge, skills and understanding you will need to work in accounting support roles. The exams cover the key areas of accounting, finance, IT and management.
Advanced Level exams are of equivalent standard to the first year of a university degree and offer a choice of options to suit your career needs.
At Advanced Level, the element of choice is introduced so that you can tailor your learning to suit work experience and career aspirations.

CIMA

A CIMA qualification will give you fantastic career prospects and high earning potential. It could be your passport to global employment opportunities.
This specialises in accounting for business and is recognised by employers around the world. There are three learning streams:
* 1 - Management Accounting
* 2 - Business Management
* 3 - Financial Management
To gain direct entry to the CIMA Professional qualification you will need to have completed the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting. Or, if you have already studied a relevant qualification - such as a degree or a professional qualification in accounting or business subjects - you may be given exemptions from the five papers at Certificate level. This will allow you direct entry to the Professional Qualification. You must complete all exams and at least three years’ relevant practical experience to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant. Some highly relevant degree programmes and other qualifications are eligible for exemptions from the Professional Qualification.
CBA
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is an entry requirement to the CIMA Professional Qualification and a recognised qualification in its own right.

Minimum Entry Requirements
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting does not require that you have any previous qualifications. It is basically designed to give you a foundation to do the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. However if you have done CAT, you will be exempted from the above 5 modules so that you can start straight with the CIMA professional qualification.
BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting
Students studying for their ACCA qualification now have the opportunity to obtain a degree from Oxford Brookes University, a recognised and highly respected UK university.
LCBS was the first training centre in Limerick, Ireland to offer the Oxford Brookes University Degree Programme. This programme enables ACCA students to obtain an Oxford Brookes degree, BSc (Honours) in Applied Accounting, upon the successful completion of the ACCA Fundamentals Level examinations.

Group Presentation: To give you the opportunity to deliver a 10 minute presentation on your Report to a group of your peers in accordance with the Oxford Brookes University's requirements.
Additional Support: You can book additional meetings with a Kaplan Financial lecturers to disscuss any problems you may face while gathering or analysing your data or preparing your report.
ACCA/Oxford Brookes University Approved Research And Analysis Project Guide: In addition, students will receive an ACCA/Oxford Brookes University Approved Research and Analysis Project Guide from Kaplan Publishing, which includes a list of recommended topics for your report, plus extensive guidance notes on how to conduct your research.
