Online Animation & Multimedia Training

New Media Campus:
Based in Kelowna BC, Canada. New Media Campus, now in conjunction with UWC Entertainment Ltd., has been providing 3D Animation and Multimedia Professional Studies online since September 2009. These are full certificate programs complete with technical support and are available online at a cost that is affordable for any budget. Along with our online training we strive to provide individuals the same support and resources at home as they would receive in class. We also offer individual online Maya 3D animation software training modules for beginners.

Online Certificate Courses:

3D Animation & Game Design Certificate Program:
The aim of this course is to provide you with a solid understanding of the skills and tools necessary for a career in the video game, film, or broadcast industry. It consists of 95 instructional hours and students have 24 months to complete the program.

This training series is specifically designed to take you through a number of projects that will expose you to a different production pipelines. In each section, you will be introduced to new concepts that will challenge your creativity and expand your understanding of the steps needed to successfully complete a project. Course Content:
This training series has been designed by industry professionals to give students a unique online learning experience. You will learn:
- Composition, concept art, character development and camera layout
- Modeling objects
- Modeling polygon characters
- Modeling polygon environments
- Animation theory and techniques
- Texturing
- Compositing
- Skeletons and kinematics
- Advanced character rigging
- Rendering, shading and lighting
- Particle systems and dynamics
- Game Engine workflow

Each successive project you complete has a higher level of difficulty. When you have successfully completed the entire training series, you will have attained a working knowledge of the software used, as well as the ability to apply the techniques you have learned to a studio production pipeline.

Prerequisites:
These programs are available so that anyone can take them and work at their own pace. There are no prerequisites or minimum age requirements. However, we do recommend that you take Multimedia Professional Studies prior to 3D Animation, unless you have prior training in multimedia or exceptional multimedia skills.

Online Multimedia Professional Studies Certificate Program:
This course will teach you about many different facets of Multimedia. You will gain a firm understanding of how to produce a digital animation as well as the fundamentals of website design.

Students who successfully complete this entire training series will have an understanding and working knowledge of the software used as well as knowledge of how a studio pipeline works. You will also know how to put a professional portfolio together. It consists of 50 instructional hours and students have 24 months to complete the program. Course Content:
This training series has been designed by industry professionals to give students a unique online learning experience. The subjects that this training series will cover:

- Digital Animation: Character and Background design, storyboards, digital painting, animation fundamentals
- Software Fundamentals: Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
- Web Site Development
- Graphic Design: Logos and Branding
- Portfolio and future outlook
