German intensive courses:
Our German intensive program is held nearly throughout the year and is divided into:
* spring courses -beginning of February to mid of June
* summer courses - beginning of July to mid of September
* autumn courses - mid of September to mid of November
* For everybody over the age of 17 interested in learning a language
* All course levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching, Strasbourg 2001)
* Exam preparation for the Austrian Language Diploma (ÖSD) at all levels
* Afternoon workshops
* Maximum number of participants per course: 12
* Length: 2,3 or 4 weeks (summer courses) or extended courses (6 weeks or more)
* 24 lessons per week (1 lesson = 45 minutes)
Time-Table
Monday - Friday: 4 lessons, 09:00-12:30
Tuesday and Thursday: 2 lessons ; 02:00-03:30
Semester course - German as a foreign and second language
Depending upon the availability of course places, all persons over the age of 17 are admitted.
* All students must enroll by the specific enrollment deadline
* Course fees and additional costs must be paid in full by the specific enrollment deadline
* All first time enrollments only must do a placement test at the beginning of the semester.
Course Aims
The university course "German as a Foreign and Second Language" offers German classes for students of non german speaking backgrounds, enabling them to acquire German to the standad levels described in the Course Aim Regulation of the European Council and the European Language Portfolio.
Placement Test and Language Level
In one semester only one general language course can be attended. Additionally, you can also attend special courses. Course participants are placed in the appropriate class (according to their language level) by way of a placement test at the beginning of the semester.
The university course is divided into compulsory subjects and optional subjects: General language course, Grammar,Phonetics, Conversation, Commercial German, Preparation course for exams on intermediate levels
