Chamberlain-Hunt Academy (CHA), located in rural Port Gibson, Mississippi, is an accredited Christian military boarding school for boys in grades 7 through 12. Having begun as a school for boys, the Academy became coeducational in 1970. Today, while CHA’s day program is co-educational, its boarding program is open to boys only. An independent school, the Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS); it is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Chamberlain-Hunt Academy offers a college preparatory curriculum. Cadets earn Carnegie credits for satisfactorily completing course work on a semester basis. All Cadets must take a full course load (a minimum of 5 academic classes). The following number of credits must be obtained for grade classification (as a guideline, a course that lasts one year earns 1 unit of credit):
- 0-4.5…………………9th grade
- 5-9.5…………….….10th grade
- 10-14.5…………..…11th grade
- 15-22……………….12th grade
The Academy’s academic goals are as follows:
- To display the harmony of faith and learning that will demonstrate the necessity of humility in gaining true knowledge and obtaining wisdom.
- To foster the development of moral and ethical standards.
- To provide standards that will challenge all Cadets.
- To provide instructors to equip Cadets to achieve high standards.
- To evaluate Cadets at regular intervals for continuous appraisal of their academic growth and development.
- To establish a curriculum that meets the requirements of college entrance or other long-range educational goals.
- To provide adequate activities for the development of the physical, cultural, recreational, civic and creative interest in Cadets.
- To foster creative thinking, problem solving and self-discipline.
- To develop and maintain a harmonious relationship among Cadets, faculty, administrators, parents and community.
