The Advanced Diploma of Business Management is an appropriate qualification for entry to lower or trainee management positions anBusiness Schools / MBA Programsd subsequent progress, with experience, to middle management or setting up your own business. It is also a practical method of entering a relevant degree program, using the Advanced Diploma qualification to gain both employment and substantial credits towards university study.

Over the past 20 years, our programs in management and marketing have established a reputation for depth, breadth and student achievement. Our graduates are employed in all business areas, in large and small organisations in Australia and internationally.

One of the reasons for this success is that the course blends the intensely practical skills of the Certificate IV in Business with the intellectual rigor of upper level competencies in the Advanced Diploma. You are also able to tailor the course by selecting a major that suits your personal interests and direction.

The Events Management major provides knowledge of the structure, operation and technology of the rapidly-growing events industry, and the skills required for concept development, venue selection, and the management of sponsorship activities.

Diploma of Business Administration

Personal Assistants and efficient office managers are so in demand that learning on the job offers an attractive prospect. There is vast benefit both for the individual and their organisation in learning formal skills in areas where supervisory or effective unsupervised work is required. How to gain those skills while working can be complex and time-consuming. However, Williams has over 100 years of experience in this area and we have developed a course which delivers the latest skills around your work commitments.

And it doesn't take forever!

Eight subjects are required for the qualification. These may be taken in any order or combination, with normal progress being 2 subjects per 10-week term allowing completion in one year. However, if work or other commitments intrude, you can reduce your study load to one subject, or skip study entirely for a time. Some subjects may also be available with offset starts, making it even easier to fit your study load into a busy life.

Study pattBusiness Schools / MBA Programserns are one evening per fortnight plus one (once only) Saturday workshop per subject. You may also study some of the subjects by day if that suits your circumstances. With multiple starting dates througout the year, subjects can be fitted around work schedules or staggered so assessments are spread throughout the program. You may also add computer subjects run by day to enhance and develop your skills specific to your current role.

As a guideline for entry, around one year's full-time relevant work experience is recommended to gain the most from this qualification. Alternatively, you need to have the majority of the competencies required for a Certificate IV in Administration or other relevant qualification. The Williams computer subjects can also serve as experience for those people who have been working in a different environment and wish to change to a rewarding career as a Personal Assistant or in administration.

Executive Personal Assistant - Legal Secretarial Studies Major

Williams has built a strong reputation in practical administration training for over a century, and our graduates have never been more in demand. That’s because Williams has a reputation with top employers for arming our secretaries and Personal Assistants with the right skills, knowledge and attitudes. An executive PA is an integral part of a management team, and we find that many of our graduates move into management roles in the years after they leave College.

Many of our graduates are placed with legal firms. The Legal Secretarial Studies major enables you to expand your core executive PA skills to cover the legal environment. You are introduced to law and the types of courts and legal practices in New South Wales, and develop skills in performing administrative and word processing tasks specific to a legal office. You also cover legal office procedures and issues of confidentiality and discretion.
