Certified Accounting Technician:
The CAT qualification is designed to get you started on the path to a fulfilling career in accounting and finance. By picking up a solid foundation in finance and accounting technical skills and knowledge over 1 to 1.5 years, you will be able to perform a supporting role to accountants and financial managers in any type of business across the world.
By successfully completing the CAT exams, you can get a head start in your quest to become a CPA. You stand to be exempted from the three Knowledge modules of the ACCA programme, hence shortening your tract to successfully obtaining the much-coveted ACCA qualification and becoming a CPA.
If you have finished 10-years of education (GCE O or N levels in Singapore) and the desire is there to become an accountant, then the fastest track is to embark on the CAT - ACCA route. This is much faster than taking for example a 3-year polytechnic diploma - ACCA route.
