Community Mental Health & Addictions Worker Diploma (Classroom)
Community Mental Health & Addictions Workers assist individuals with mental health challenges, housing and addiction issues by encouraging and supporting them in their daily lives. They model, teach and support all functions of home life, daily living activities, leisure and recreation for improved quality of life for their clients. They provide assistance, support and skill training to adult men and women to establish and maintain a stable living situation, as independently as possible. They discuss, isolate and assess problems, develop a flexible plan of action, ensure basic needs are met, network clientele with needed services and provide crisis intervention as necessary. They also act as coordinators for volunteers.
The unique curriculum for this program has been prepared in direct partnership with industry agencies supporting individuals with mental health challenges and addictions. Based on the input received from these industry partners, this program has been specifically designed to prepare students – philosophically, mentally/intellectually, emotionally, and experientially – for a successful career with longevity and the potential for advancement in the challenging field of mental health and addictions.
Community Support Worker Diploma (Classroom)
Community Support Workers assist people with learning disabilities, physical challenges or other special needs, along with their families. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive theoretical and practical education so graduates can provide support to people of all ages who have developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis (i.e. developmental disability and mental illness). Students learn how to effectively promote the mental, physical and emotional health of people with specialized needs so that they may live as fully and independently as possible.
The program includes foundational course work and weekly field placements that provide applied practice giving students a continual real-world context as they complete their studies. An intensive practicum occurs at the end of the program. This practicum is the final consolidation of knowledge, skills and abilities so that students are immediately ready to join the workforce upon graduation.
Health Care Assistant Certificate (formerly Resident Care Attendant) (Classroom)

We work with students on building these skills along with the needed technical skills to produce graduates that are highly employable.
The Stenberg College curriculum exceeds the British Columbia Society of Laboratory Science standards in many areas and includes a mandatory practicum so our graduates are sure to be fully prepared for work in the field. Medical Office Assistant Diploma (Classroom)
If you’re looking for a rewarding career in healthcare administration, you’ll love being a Medical Office Assistant. This program will prepare you to work with healthcare professionals and you'll learn the skills necessary to perform general office and medical office duties as well as assist in preparing patients for physicians, surgeons and practitioners.
Included in this in-class program are courses in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, professional communications, medical office procedures and more. Nursing Unit Clerk Diploma (Classroom)
Nursing Unit Clerks, originally known as ward clerks, act as the anchors of patient care departments. The Nursing Unit Clerk’s focus is on the non-clinical tasks of the department, and delivering and communicating the physician’s orders with the nursing staff and the other departments (laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, dietary, and therapies). Without the unit coordinator, the nursing staff would be unable to complete their duties. This program will fully prepare you to successfully work in this essential position.

Practical Nursing Diploma (Classroom)

Early Childhood Educator Certificate (Classroom) & Post-Basic Special Needs & Infant Toddler Diploma (Hybrid Classroom & Online)
As an Early Childhood Educator in a daycare or preschool centre, you’ll have the opportunity to nourish young minds and have a positive influence on children that will last a lifetime. You will learn to plan, organize and lead activities for preschool children to encourage their intellectual, physical and emotional growth. This can be accomplished through storytelling, songs, music, crafts and more. You will also guide and assist children to develop proper eating, dressing and toileting habits.
