Spanish Language Immersion in Guatemala

A School for One America, Cobàn:
The School for One America (La Escuela para una Amèrica), right in the center of Cobàn, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, is the perfect place for individual students or small groups to learn Spanish and get to know the local culture! You can study with our experienced teachers anywhere from a few hours to a few months and can start whenever you′d like. Stay with one of our terrific host families for a truely authentic Guatemalan experience!

The School for One America was founded in 2005 by Dalila Garcìa, a Spanish teacher with over 10 years of experience. We are a small school in the heart of Cobàn in Guatemala and are dedicated to making each student′s learning experience the best possible. We have four classrooms equipped with tables and whiteboards as well as a patio learing space, small lobby (with coffee!) and book exchange.

All teachers are trained and experienced in Spanish instruction and we offer a variety of books and learning materials. Our host families are also pre-screened and closely connected to the school. Just let us know what your needs and interests are and we′ll match you up with a good fit!

Since we are a small school, we do not normally organize tours to nearby attractions, but we will help you find anything you may want while you′re here. We are well connected with local nonprofits and can arrange fun and fulfilling volunteer positions!

Students can learn Spanish, Q´eqchi or English in a one-on-one or small group setting with our experienced language teachers.
