Dance Teacher Training & Teachers College:
The Joy of Dance Studio & Teachers College is committed to training competent and professional dance teachers who are also the most successful. We have the Toronto EXCLUSIVE for the outstanding curriculum from San Francisco's Ballroom Dance Teachers College. We have added a business development curriculum to support the success of our graduates. We are also paying attention to personal development and relationship systems to enhance the joy of being a dance teacher.
OUR APPROACH
1. Emphasis on experiential - lots of practice.
2. Harnessing the power of co-active relationships and learning and practicing with other students.
3. Challenging in a fun and safe learning environment.
4. Demand full and active commitment and participation
5. Experience can be transformational and life changing.
A very rigorous curriculum designed to ingrain dancing into your being to enable you to adjust to the variety of student needs. This involves a great deal of practicing with real people and real issues. By the time you are certified as a dance teacher you will have discovered your own personal style and have gained the confidence that arises from that, and know how to sell and deliver that value to others.
The DVIDA program has been accepted by the CDTA.
No previous dance experience is required.
In this course you will learn:
• The 17 dances of the DVIDA Bronze American Syllabus for Smooth, Rhythm, and Night Club dances, and how to teach them
• To dance as both Leader and Follower
• Technical elements of all the dances
• Musical elements of all the dances
• How to teach private & group lessons
• How to prepare for DVIDA certification
This is a professional level course, and we cover a lot of material at a fairly fast pace. Missing class is not advised, as you can easily fall behind. If you do have to miss a class, you can generally arrange to work with one of the other students to help you catch up. You can also schedule private lessons with one of the faculty members (for an additional private lesson fee) to make up any work you miss.
