Faculty:
Every faculty member is an award-winning instructor who has written the courses he or she presents. It is faculty which makes one program superior to others, and our faculty members all have real-world records of success in the fields taught. Dr. Jack Sales DVM practiced veterinary medicine at race tracks and farms in Texas and New Mexico before opting to teach college courses, such as Equine Reproduction...which details all aspects from stallion collection to assisting in foaling as shown here. Dr Jim McCall established stallion management programs and behavior courses for several college programs and is the author of The Stallions, Horses Behavin' Badly and Influence Horse Behavior. Don Blazer is the author of seven horse training and horse care books. Cathy Hanson is the trainer of World Champion AQHA trail horse, Sure Bet Chip and the California Pacific Coast Youth Advisor. Eleanor Richards is an equine nutrition specialist and attorney Ruth Kochard specializes in equine law.
Affordability:
With college tuition rising at an alarming rate, Breyer State University's online accredited Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies degree remains the most affordable program available. Being online, BSU can make the best of the best instructors available on a one-on-one basis, yet not have the high costs of having faculty on site and only working only at specific time periods. Allowing students to enroll in one course at a time creates an easy to manage payment plan. There is a one-time enrollment fee of $150, then each course is only $350. A student can enroll in a course and save for the next course while completing the first, at his or her own pace and when convenient. Students can take as long as they want to finish a course and will never be "locked out." Being able to control your finances without going into debt, and being able to work with your horse at home, makes the BSU an outstanding education value.
