The Department of Art and Music of Angelo State University, located in West Central Texas, offers a wide variety of degree programs, courses in both visual arts and music, and performance opportunities. Whether you plan to major in one of our programs or in another field, all courses and ensembles are open for you to participate in. The Art program at ASU provides many opportunities for students. Offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree, ASU gives the student variety and opportunity by providing such specializations as art history, ceramics, graphic design, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The department also offers a BA with all level teaching certification.

The Porter Henderson Library at Angelo State University possesses an array of facilities to support the various degree programs offered by the University. The total library holdings surpass 1,500,000 items in a variety of formats, including books, journals, government documents, audiovisuals, and others. This comprises a collection which compares favorably with the national average for library holdings in colleges and universities offering master's degrees.

The Porter Henderson Library contains 80,000 square feet of space. Library facilities include over 300 study carrels conducive to efficient study and research, large reading and reference rooms, open stacks, a Media center, and a microform reading area. Through the Library's Interlibrary Loan service and cooperative agreements with other libraries, faculty and students may request additional resources for their personal research and classroom assignments.

From courses in Ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and painting, to the Chamber Singers, Ram Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Chorale, Basketball Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Chamber Ensembles, there is a place for you to discover, refine, and present your artistic and creative efforts in our department. Whether it's working with clay or performing in front of thousands of fans at a Ram football game, the Department of Art and Music provides a supportive, enriching, and stimulating experience for your education in the arts.
