Bilingual Montessori School de l’Oise is a small private bilingual French/English pre-school and primary school. It is situated in Chantillly, approximately 50 km north of Paris in the Oise department in the Picardie region. The school accepts all children between the age of two and a half and eleven years old. The class sizes are small, with a maximum of 10 children per class. There are three classes: a Maternelle class (2 to 5 years old), a class of CP- CE1 (6-7 years old), a class of CE2, CM1, CM2 (8-11 years old).

 Educational Theory:

The "Bilingual Montessori School de l'Oise" is a bilingual kindergarten and middle school. The curriculum in the Nursery and Reception section is Montessori based.

Though it is structured, the children are at liberty to choose their own activities according to their own interests and they work through the exercises according to their levels of development.


 The principles of the Montessori method:

The Montessori approach aims to allow children to grow naturally, to retain their individuality and develop their own unique personality.

Maria Montessori’s educational principles are bases around the three central ideas outlined below:
- Universal characteristics of chilhood
- The prepared environment
- Special qualities of the teachers


 Programs:

Pre-School Program; Primary School Program. The Pre-School follows the Montessori Curriculum, the Primary School teaches objectives of the English and French National curriculums. We are a bilingual school with English and French. English is the main language of instruction.


 The School Activities:

On Wednesday morning from 08:30 to 12.00, the full-time pupils are joined by children from other schools to participate in English language activities. These activities use music and drama to develop the children’s listening and speaking skills.

The children can attend after school clubs, including Art on Monday afternoons and Music on Friday afternoons. Visits to the theatre, museums, farms, etc. are organised throughout the year to correspond with the topics taught in class.
