Akademie für Fremdsprachen GmbH, Berlin:
The Akademie was founded in 1971. It is situated in the heart of the western part of Berlin, ten minutes walk from Berlin Zoo station and the famous KaDeWe department store. The school has 18 classrooms and a café/bookshop and has a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It is a recognised centre for a number of Cambridge and London Chamber of Commerce examinations and has been a CELTA centre since 1998 and also prepares candidates for professional qualifications in translation.

Our German courses usually run in sequence, progressing from one level to the next. However, we do also offer our students the opportunity to take an external examination: Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) . The official Freie University, Berlin 'Deutsch als Fremdsprache' examination is open to all the students at the Akademie, but is intended more specifically for those completing the Intermediate Level. Passing this exam is a requirement for all foreign-speaking students wishing to do a course of study at the Freie University in Berlin.
