Study German in Germany with the Goethe-Institut Goethe-Institut:
Germany is a many-faceted country — as reflected in our course locations. Whether you want to learn German in a major city, a lively university center or a cosy, smaller town, we offer plenty of choice. The Goethe Institute leaves it up to you. For the optimal solution to meet your needs, you can choose from among 13 institutes, each with its own individual profile and identity.

Berlin, Bonn, Bremen, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Göttingen, Hamburg, Mannheim-Heidelberg, Munich, Schwäbisch Hall and Weimar

Study German in Germany with the Goethe-Institut Accommodation:

You can book accommodation through all Goethe Institutes in Germany. We can book you a room in our own hostels (single or double rooms) or arrange for you to stay with a family. On request, the staff at the local institutes can also book you a hotel room or bed and breakfast. Please note that not all institutes have hostels.

The hostels have:
- rooms with WC/shower or
- rooms with WC/shower on the same floor
- shared kitchens
- TV/social rooms
- washing machines
- Bedclothes, towels, kitchen utensils and dishes are provided.

If you wish, the staff at the local institutes can book you a hotel room or bed and breakfast.

Homestays:
The Goethe Institutes in Bonn and Frankfurt can arrange for you to stay with a family. Details: breakfast and dinner with the family seven times a week.
Availability is limited.

Apartments:
The Goethe Institutes in Bonn, Munich and Frankfurt offer a limited number of apartments with kitchen and bathroom.

Meals:
At some institutes you can book breakfast and lunch for the days when lessons take place. We will be pleased to recommend good, moderate-priced restaurants near the institutes. In university cities, course participants can also use university canteens and cafeterias.

For participants from countries with currency restrictions:
You can book full board with the institute where your course takes please, even if this option is not available. You will then be reimbursed at the start of the course.
The staff at the institutes or the main registration office will be pleased to give you more information.


 

Study German in Germany with the Goethe-Institut Mediothek / Individual Learning Centres:

The Goethe Institutes provide free access to individual learning centres* while you are attending courses. You can go there before or after class to search for information or work on individual assignments. Some lessons take place in the Mediothek as well. Your teacher and the Mediothek staff will be pleased to provide support if you have difficulties with coursework or help you to select and use suitable materials and media.
The Mediothek has:
computer work stations with computer-assisted learning software and CD-ROM
Internet access
exercise books, worksheets, grammar books, reading comprehension texts
non-fiction books, literature
dictionaries and reference books
daily and weekly newspapers, magazines
video tapes
audio cassettes, CDs (exercises, literature, music)
sample tests and materials for examination preparation

* The institutes in Weimar and the summer institutes are not yet equipped with Mediotheks.
