The Language House:
The Language House is a cross cultural program that offers Italian language holidays and Italian immersion programs for adults and teenagers in Florence, Milan and Genoa, Italy. Our Intensive Italian language courses take place all year round, from Monday to Friday, usually from 9am to 1pm (20 hours a week). Students take a placement test in order to be placed at an appropriate level. Our classes are very small (max.10 people) and no matter the location are held in the city centre. We feel that small class sizes are essential to facilitate the learning process and ensure that focus is placed on the learning requirements of the individual student, and on helping him/her to overcome any difficulties in a friendly environment. The range of courses offered allows the student to adapt the program to their individual needs.

Our intensive Italian language courses start every Monday. Each student is encouraged to take a short test before starting a course so that his/her language needs can be ascertained, and it can be ensured that they are placed in a group of a similar level of ability and knowledge. On completion of a course the student will be awarded an attendance certificate; in addition, the students are also offered the opportunity to take the officially recognized tests.
Students take a placement test in order to be placed at an appropriate level. There are seven levels: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate, advanced and proficiency according to European standards.
The Language House homestay program
A unique, highly-effective and immensely enjoyable language learning experience, The Language House homestay program is available at any time of year and is suitable for all ages starting at 16 years old as well as any language level (beginner to advanced). Language homestays combine living and studying abroad in your tutor’s own home. Our programs are ideal for individuals, business, travel or examination revision purposes. All tutors are fully-qualified teachers and native speakers, experienced in teaching their mother tongue as a foreign language. Our homestay program option is currently available in all of our Italian course locations.
On one of our cultural immersion experiences you will share meals and all aspects of social and cultural life as a member of your teacher’s family, including local trips and excursions. Formal lessons are structured around your own subjects of interest for 15 or 20 hours per week, scheduled at the times that suit you best. This leaves plenty of time for your own independent study, leisure time and sight seeing so you can enjoy a first-hand experience of the real language and lifestyle. You can take advantage of learning at your own rhythm, pace and level, meeting friends, neighbors and professional colleagues etc. to help improve your language skills.
Multi-Country Adventure Program
Combine a streamlined Mediterranean tour with language training, a TESOL(Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages)- teacher training program and/or volunteer work. Crea
ted to allow you to become fluent in either two or more languages, this program enables you to explore different languages and cultures by spending significant time in several locations. You have the opportunity to study French, Arabic, Italian, Turkish, Greek and/or Spanish for three hours each day as well as partake in the cultural activities offered. You may choose Group lessons or the One to One Homestay option.
All of our featured locations offer the same comfortable atmosphere and conversational methodology. Multi country Adventure Program participants benefit from a 10% discount off course fees. The Language House provides the most flexible muti course program offered as you may choose any length of time starting from the minimum of 12 weeks in any of four countries without a maximum limit.
