Ecole Des Roches, Normandy:
Located on a 148 acre estate in Normandy, northwestern France, 3 km from Verneuil-sur-Avre and 115 km north west of Paris, Ecole des Roches is an international and non denominational private grant-aided boarding secondary school for boys and girls. The school consists of a College and a Lycee. The College is for 11 to 15 years olds, has an English language European section where pupils receive History and Geography or Physics and Chemistry classes in English for 4 ème et 3 ème classes and has the aim to start preparing for the Baccalauréat Option Euorpéenne. At the Lycee students prepare for the Literature, Economics and Science sections of the Baccalauréat as well as for the following foreign languages exams: Cambridge, SAT, TOEFL, Cervantés and Goethe Institutes. We also priovide boarding revision courses for Brevet des Collèges, French language baccalauréat and Baccalauréat as well as holiday courses to get young children ready for the new school year.

We offer the following programs:
A COLLEGE (11 to 15 yea

A LYCEE, preparing to L (literature), ES (economics) and S (sciences) sections of the Baccalauréat (96,5% pass or above) as well as to the following foreign languages exams: Cambridge, SAT, TOEFL, Cervantés and Goethe Institutes.
Boarding REVISION COURSES, for Brevet des Collèges (national French exam taken at 15 years old), French language baccalauréat (taken at 17 years old) and Baccalauréat (taken at 18 years old).
Ecole des Roches also offers HOLIDAY COURSES to get youngsters ready for the new school year.
Individualised follow-up:
* First supervised study period from 5 pm to 7 pm. Students are supervised by house masters and, from time to time, by teachers.
* Second supervised study period from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm (from the 4ème onwards).
Extra-teaching:
* Extra-teaching courses, which aim to support students in revising lessons they haven't fully understood, are included in their weekly timetable. Students are allocated to small groups to encourage interactivity. Students who have exams at the end of the year have the chance to use computing resources in the main subjects.
This leading-edge teaching method will soon and progressively be generalised to other classes.
Leading-edge Technologies:
Our team considers that computing must be the focus of modern pedagogical policies. The Ecole des Roches created an Intranet which aims to be a main learning resource for teachers, students, house masters and for the entire educational team :
* The Teachers use the Intranet for demonstrations, experiments, presentations and for other exercises such as multi-choice questionnaires. The Intranet is also an essential tool for teachers to communicate with parents.
* Students use the Intranet :

o As a learning resource for seminars in sciences, technology, mathematics, spelling, languages and literature.
o Arithmetics softwares, photography editing and graphic design softwares (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator...) give students the opportunity to learn how to use spreadsheets, to create documents and to optimise the presentation of their work.
o The students also learn how to surf the web… with a critical eye !
* House Masters and the Administrative Department use the Intranet to diffuse information on screens scattered on the campus in order to improve the communication channel and students' life.
Preparation for internationally recognised exams:
* The issued diplomas are the following :
o English : Cambridge diploma (80% of success), TOEFL & SAT
o Spanish : Cervantès diploma
o German : Goethe Institute exam
The Ecole des Roches gives the students the opportunity to use a leading-edge language laboratory and two multimedia centres (access to the internet and to pedagogical CD ROMs).
