 Goal:

Our goal is to secure the independence of the Monterey Institute in terms of academic curriculum, pedagogy, and reputation, while making it an integral part of the Middlebury College legacy. Our intent is to work with the experienced members of our joint task force-the presidents and vice presidents, chair persons and directors, trustees and liaisons-taking a team approach to the implementation of our plan.


 Accreditation:

The Monterey Institute of International Studies is accredited, through its affiliation with Middlebury College, by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC), a higher education accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education.


 Affiliation:

In 2005, the Monterey Institute of International Studies became an affiliate of Middlebury College, one of the country's top liberal arts colleges. The new partnership ensures that the Institute can continue to grow and extend its educational mission, in cooperation with a larger institution also renowned for its expertise in international education, language teaching and cultural studies.


 Programs:

We are a graduate institute and research center offering a wide range of Programs including International Business (MBA), International Management, International Policy Studies; International Environmental Policy; Translation and Interpretation.


 Peace Corps Master´s International Program:

The Monterey Institute and Peace Corps share a common goal in seeking to "help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women." Our graduate programs at the Monterey Institute aim to prepare the next generation of policy makers, business leaders, translators and interpreters, and language teachers.

The Monterey Institute benefits from the knowledge and expertise of the several Returned Peace Corps Volunteers on campus that make up our student body, faculty, and staff.

Peace Corps is celebrating its 20th year of Peace Corps Master’s International (PCMI) programs. The Monterey Institute is proud to offer PCMI programs in five degree options.
