Magic Years International Kindergarten Bangkok:
Welcome to Magic Years located in Nonthaburi, 20 km north of Bangkok in southern Thailand! Whether you're a parent in our school or a parent looking for an ideal school, you've come to the right place! Since 1990, Magic Years has been providing quality preschool education to expatriate families in Bangkok and Nonthaburi. Our reputation as one of the top international preschools with English led pogrammes in the Greater Bangkok area continues to grow. Our paramount goal at Magic Years is to surround all children with love and warmth - an extension of the concerns of home. Based on the concept that children are like young plants that need nurturing and guidance, we provide an environment that is developmentally appropriate, where the teaching style is responsive to the individual differences of each child. As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) candidate school, we focus on the development of the whole child.

 Philosophy:

Children are like tender plants, they need nurturing and guidance in order to grow and develop into beautiful flowering trees. We look at ourselves as gardeners who have the warmth and patience to nurture these tender plants.

We know as gardeners that this job cannot be done alone and we need the support of sunshine (the parents), rain (the environment) and good soil (the community). As gardeners we also know that the seed we have planted is not an empty vessel. It has the potential to grow into a mighty tree. Therefore we believe that the three important protagonists in the school system are the teacher, the child and the parents.

Another important component to this story is our understanding about the importance of developing the “whole” child. The reality of the child is his/her thought and character and not just physical and intellectual ability. If a child is strong in physical abilities and is creative and intelligent but not willing to cooperate, share or work with others in harmony, of what use is his/her intelligence? This intelligence and creativity will only brPhilosophying isolation and unhappiness. We seek to develop the creativity, intelligence and also the inner qualities of our children. Our curriculum includes the development of these qualities and reinforces capabilities that will enable the children to make appropriate choices and take appropriate action to benefit themselves and their society.

We realize that it is not only important for the children to know and recognize these capabilities but also that they must be able to use them to produce action that will benefit others. They need to develop the skills, habits, attitudes, knowledge and spiritual qualities to be able to make these capabilities their own. We encourage the development of these capabilities through our daily routines, songs, games, stories, role-play and memorization of inspirational passages. These passages are selected from various sources, such as the writings from different religions, philosophers, poets and also the United Nations Charter.

 Staff:

Our greatest asset at Magic Years is our diverse group of educators, administrators and staff members. Our staff possess a loving, nurturing and encouraging attitude towards the children. Their intelligence, individual initiative and dedication are sources of inspiration for the entire Magic Years community. Our educators approach their work with a posture of learning - learning from their interactions with the children, the parents, the environment and their colleagues. They not only possess knowledge about child development, but also the love for research, of curiosity and of working in a group. The ongoing training and professional development that they receive help bring out their true potential, which in turn brings out the best in the children.

 Testimonials:

Dearest Khanum,
These were really magic years for Harel and I could feel it more every time I came to visit. You should have seen Harel's happiness and excitement when I told him that we were going to visit you. He prepared big hugs and kisses and for me this is the sign that the time spent with you was "magic". Thank you, I hope we'll keep contact and you will be most welcome in our house in Jerusalem.
Love, Danielle

"Both Emily, and most recently Sophie, have benefited from the happy and secure atmosphere at the school, as well as the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff. They have loved going to school and I know that they will return to England with very fond memories of time spent at Magic Years." - Rachel and Giles Wadsworth
