Nursery:
St John’s International School Nursery At St John’s International School Nursery we aim to provide a play based curriculum for 2-4 year olds. We operate a two year rolling program to ensure children are provided with a variety of different experiences during their two years in Nursery.

The curriculum meets each child’s needs through structured play activities which encourage children to become motivated and independent learners.

Primary School:
Within the Primary School the curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum and also makes use of the national and cultural heritage of Thailand. We have high expectations of our pupils and our aim is to achieve excellence not only in the teaching of core subjects, but also in providing a wide range of rich experiences, which enhance learning in the National Curriculum and beyond.

Specialist teachers provide the PE and Music curricula. At St. John’s we are a keen participant in international sports competitions sponsored by BISAC and this includes football, basketball and swimming, to name but a few. We have an excellent large purpose built sports hall and a superb swimming pool.

We ensure that a proportion of the timetable meets the needs of the Thai Curriculum for those who are Thai nationals, while other students receive Thai as an Additional Language. Children are taken on exciting and stimulating educational visits throughout the academic year enhancing their understanding of class work. Children in Years 3-6 are taught Mandarin.

Our students are taught in line with the best UK educational methodology, reading schemes with educational materials mostly imported. The school offers a superbly resourced library and a modern computer suite. Our primary teachers also use Interactive Whiteboards in the classrooms to help make their lessons as stimulating as possible.

A rigorous process of assessment monitors the children’s development throughout the primary school and children are set regular targets in all areas of the curriculum. Currently our primary school children complete the National Curriculum tests in English and Mathematics. We have regular meetings with parents and children to inform on the progress that the child is making and to discuss the targets that have been set.

Secondary School:
Students can face a challenge moving to a new school or from primary school, but our experienced Secondary teachers ensure that the transition into and through each Key Stage of Secondary is smooth and that each student is extended to their maximum capability. The regular monitoring of academic performance and a structured educational programme ensures that students grow academically and personally. They are able to meet the demands of a challenging secondary education programme and are prepared for life long learning and to enter universities.

Academic excellence through the education of the whole child is reflected in our curriculum design and daily routines. We aim to help each student meet his or her highest potential through intellectual, social, emotional, physical and artistic growth with the understanding that each child learns and develops in his or her own way. At Saint John’s International School, the child is at the centre of the educational process.

The Secondary School aims to provide an environment in which individual attention is given to the well-being of each student both academically and personally.

International Diploma Program (IDP):
Since 1994, our program has offered a complete North American-style secondary school curriculum right here in Bangkok! All of our courses are taught in English (except Thai language). Parents looking to expand their children’s opportunities no longer have to send them to Canada or the U.S. to attain a North American High School education.

Saint John’s International Diploma Program (IDP) is an integral part of Saint John’s International School, so students enjoy full access to all the facilities available.

Our program is accredited by both the Thai Ministry of Education and World Wide Educational Services WES, a prestigious British accrediting organization which also accredits the British section of St. John’s International School.

We offer an excellent educational environment. Classes are small (always less than twenty students per class, often much less). Teachers are dedicated professionals with post-graduate qualifications. As a result, our graduating students have an outstanding pass rate. Last year all graduating students received a high-school diploma. This is an exceptional result for the school and a proud achievement for our students.The International Diploma Program has scholarships to deserving students.
