BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School:
Situated in Berlin, eastern Germany, Berlin Brandenburg International School (BBIS) is a fully accredited English-speaking International Baccalaureate (IB) school with 560 students in preschool through 12th grade. Berlin Brandenburg International School is a true international school. Our students represent about 50 different nationalities. We are fully accredited by the Council of International Schools and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Seeberg campus, just 20km south of Berlin on the Machnow Lake, boasts a superb new sports field and gymnasium and rapidly expanding, up-to-date school facilities. Besides top quality academics, BBIS offers an extensive extra curricular programme in sports, the fine arts and social services.
The IB Diploma has now been officially recognized as equivalent to the German Abitur. Thus IB graduates are qualified to study at German and European universities. The IB Diploma is also recognized at colleges internationally and in the United States and Canada.

Location and Facilities:
Boarding:
The boarding facility is located in Potsdam-Babelsberg, about 20 minutes from the BBIS campus. The students are bussed daily to and from school. The boarding facility’s location offers direct public transportation into the city centre of Berlin and into neighbouring Potsdam as well. Eventually, we will have newly built boarding facilities for approximately 50 students on the BBIS campus in Kleinmachnow.
In our boarding community, we house BBIS students in 6th to 12th grade who are determined to nurture their own strong minds, bodies and spirits and to further international understanding and tolerance among themselves, in our Berlin-Brandenburg community and throughout the world.
The boarding facility offers newly renovated single, double and triple rooms, including washrooms. A comfortable common room, kitchen, laundry room and courtyard enable the boarding students to truly feel at home and enjoy and learn from each other as a group. An adult mentor living in an apartment adjacent to the student’s quarters is responsible for the students’ well-being during their time in Berlin. The morning and evening routines are supervised as well as the weekend time, which will regularly include outings and activities.
All of the boarding school offerings, including the living space, duties, projects, rituals and after school and weekend activities, are conceived to further these goals and provide the students with a nurturing and safe environment.
