Art:
Studies have shown that human beings are primarily visually oriented. How we perceive the world has a significant effect on who we are and what we do, and provides both a precondition and motivation for producing art. The intentional planning and production of art is a distinctively human endeavour that has both emotional and intellectual value for the artist.

The value of education in the visual arts lies in the creation of an awareness of how visual experiences shape our ways of knowing and seeing our own lives and the lives of the people around us. Additionally, the student of art is offered the possibility of personal expression through the production of images, which can be both emotional and intellectual, therapeutic, and communicative.

The production and appreciation of the visual arts provide a magnificent vehicle for realizing diversity in individuals, societies, and cultures. BBIS feels strongly about the fact that the Visual Arts at BBIS provide a dynamic forum for expression and discussion, for acquiring skills and techniques, and for constant interaction with the values and preferences of different cultures. Visual Arts as an independent subject is offered at BBIS in grades 3 through 12, instructed by specialist teachers.

Music:
Music plays a vital role in building bridges within our international community: bridges between students, between cultures, between languages, between styles, between home and school, between individual needs and group goals.

Drama:
The mission of the Berlin Brandenburg International School Drama Department is simple: we want our students to realize their academic and artistic potential.

First, we seek to foster a lifelong love and participation in the Theatrical Arts. We do this by offering a number of educational opportunities for students whether they seek to enhance their confidence in oral expression, develop recreational performing talents, or focus on applying these skills professionally.

We believe that all students deserve an opportunity to grow through the exploration and experimentation in the Theater. We do not limit students at any level of coursework, and we strive to involve as many students as possible both on-stage and off in our extra-curricular productions. We purposefully select scripts that both stretch our students while offering numerous opportunities for students to grow.

Sports:
A carefully planned programme of physical education and sporting activities at BBIS contributes significantly to balanced education students receive at BBIS. Students have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of sports and activities and are taught foundational skills so that further participation at team Boarding Schools / IB Collegesor recreational level is possible at any time in life. The school also encourages students to view sport as an activity for life and not merely a school requirement. The programme emphasizes participation, commitment, self-discipline, fair play, sportsmanship, effort, and teamwork.
