Glass Art Courses in Florence:
Using a balance of light source and color, glass is an exciting medium. Regardless of your artistic capability or level of experience, you can achieve dramatic results. 

• Basic Glass Art Course:

Course Duration: 2 years. Taught in Italian only.

You will make a sun catcher using the copper foil method and will later become familiar with leading by constructing a small leaded panel.

In addition, you can complete a third project of your choice: a jewelry box, small lamp, clock, panel, accessories and many more.

You will receive instruction in unique techniques such as mosaics, Tiffany Style stained glass, fusing design and techniques, as well as business theories in the glass industry.

In the last semester, you are encouraged to challenge yourself with a more complex project, in the use of glass design and techniques.

• One-Year / Semester Glass Art Programs:
Taught in Italian with English or Spanish interpreters 

At Accademia Riaci, we consider glass to be an artist's material having remarkable and complex expressive range, as well as a studio discipline with limitless potential and a unique history that incorporates sculpture, design, architecture, decorative art, and craft. 

The extensive curriculum of this accelerated course offers a full range of glass working processes. You will receive a thorough technical foundation and broad resources for specialized material exploration.

Combining the rich and diverse heritage of glass art with a commitment to conceptual development and artistic criticality, this program comprises training in Tiffany Style stained glass, mosaic and fusion.

In addition to specialized glass art training, this course includes Basic Art Lessons, Art Stages, Guided Art Visits, and Independent Study.

• Atelier Course:

This course follows the same curriculum as the One-year Course, but does not include the Basic Art Lessons.

• Glass Art Master Course:
Academic Year & Semester study options available. Taught in Italian with English or Spanish interpreters
 
Designed for students with a strong undergraduate background within the traditions of discipline, this program requires that you demonstrate both conceptual and technical excellence in an area of Glass Art, as well as a profound interest in experimentation and search.

With an emphasis on the investigation and articulation of concepts leading to a high level of personal inquiry, the work produced on this program challenges and extends the traditional boundaries of the media and their accepted definitions.

Studio work is enhanced by lectures, workshop, students tutorials, and seminars by visiting artists.
