Advanced Jewelry CourseAlchimia Contemporary Jewellery School, Florence:
Alchimia is a private contemporary jewellery school located in Florence, Italy - a city famed since medieval times for its tradition and excellence in art and crafts. We offer academic jewellery design courses at BA and specialization levels, and also short-term programs from 2 weeks to 3 months in length. The school's mission is to provide students with both technical and conceptual knowledge in contemporary jewellery, while providing a supportive and practical working environment.

Advanced Jewellery Course:
Students are admitted to the advanced jewellery course upon presentation of a curriculum with photos illustrating the level of technical preparation. The students' previous work will be discussed by the course tutors. The number of students admitted to the course is 10-12.

In addition to the development and elaboration of advanced jewellery techniques, this couse is composed of conceptual exercises designed to provide the students a more liberal understanding of jewellery. These excercises focus the attention on the creative dynamics and their language, thus stimulating the experimentatAdvanced Jewelry Courseion of individual research and to preserve its vitality.

Lessons of freehand drawing and jewellery history complete the programme.

Workshops include: forms in space, connection-transition, one hour jewellery, around a gift, souvenir, delta conspiracy, kid’s drawing, material experiments, wax-workshop, from word to form,

Theory: technology, colour theory, jewellery history

In addition to the theoretical and practical lessons the program includes lectures and seminars with goldsmiths and designers of international fame and visits to fairs and exhibitions in Italy and Europe.

The school assigns a personal workbench to each student enrolled in the course. Students have free access to all facilities during school office hours for the entire school year.
