Kaplan International Colleges offer English summer courses in Cairns, Queensland on the north east coast of Australia. Cairns is a 3 hour flight from Sydney. Our summer ESL English programs have been designed for juniors and teenagers aged between 12 and 17. 1 and 2-week study options are available.

Duration: 1-2 weeks

- 12 hours of English language classes per week. Students are taught according to their level of English (beginner, intermediate or advanced) which is assessed at the start of the course.

- Kaplan uses a set of teaching materials specially designed for children. Our skilled and friendly teachers will ensure that all English courses offer children a diverse mix of activities this summer.

- We strive to provide courses that are both enjoyable and challenging. All English courses emphasize building confidence and developing English language fluency in a lively and authentic language context.

Full Children's Activity Program Plus Excursions (Cairns English Summer School)
Each child takes part in four or five activities per week during their summer English course which may include sports, walking tours, shopping, beach trips and more.

Children's summer activities and Cairns excursions may include:

- Walking tours:
Join a walking tour of the pretty and interesting city of Cairns and the surrounding areas.

- Beach trips:
Cairns has magnificent beaches that are perfect for hanging out on with friends. Calm, blue seas and pristine white beaches make a beautiful setting to enjoy your summer.

- Shopping:
The city has many shops for you to explore! From jewellery and fashion to food and books - Cairns' shopping district has something to entertain everyone!

- Sports:
Join in with our school organized sporting activities. Sports include football, scuba diving, swimming or cricket.

- A cultural exchange visit to local school:
Experience the real Australian school culture and meet other Australian children with an exchange trip to a local Cairns school.

English Study Tour Activities & Excursions:
Our English study tours include three to five activities per week, depending on your budget. Activities may include sports, city tours or beach trips. Weekend day trips in Australia or New Zealand may be included on request.

• International Summer School for Teens offers an exclusive 3 week, residential summer programs in Scotland and London & Oxford UK in 2024.

• We specialise in providing a personalised, safe & friendly educational experience for students aged 12 to 18 years old. We welcome participants of all levels from the UK, Europe, U.S., and around the world.

• A summer horse-riding plus English language course provider for international students, and equine care training school for British students (aged 10-18 years).


• Situated close to the historic town of Battle in East Sussex, south-east England, Kildinan Park Dale Farm offers equine enthusiasts (aged 10-18) a chance to learn English language skills and horse-riding / stable management on the same course.

• Our English + Horseback Riding course is taught during the summer months, and all ages and standards are welcome.

• With only a maximum of 5 students staying with us at any one time, our English summer course classes are small to ensure optimal interaction between Student and Teacher on these activity holidays. The classes include practicals of everyday life to help to encourage conversational English skills and confidence. 

• Students are welcome to stay for just 1 week but we recommend staying 2 weeks or more to avail of the full benefit of our English tutorials.

• In addition to our English courses, we also offer a horse riding + horse care course for British children & teenagers ages 10 to 18 during Easter and summer school holidays.

Summer Orchestral Course, Bristol - Language & Music for Life
Courses / Programs
Update: Language & Music for Life summer courses 2024 in the UK take place in Llandovery College (a co-educational independent day and boarding school in Llandovery, a market town in Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales).

2020 location:
Based in Tockington Manor School, just 12 miles north of Bristol in the south-west of England, Language and Music for Life provides an intensive, 1-week orchestral music course for children (ages 5 to 14) who want to have an opportunity to “make” music in summer 2024.

This residential and non-residential course is designed for players who have reached at least Grade 4 standard on any orchestral instrument.

Children ages 9-14 can attend as boarders while students ages 5-9 should either live locally, or stay in local Bed & Breakfasts with their parents who would transport them to the course each day.

The course, ‘Strictly Come Playing’ is a week-long summer music camp that culminates in the creation of 'The 100 Little Hands Symphony Orchestra', which is conducted by William Godfree. We accept applications from students who currently play Strings, Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion instruments.

At Language and Music for Life, we are serious about providing a safe environment for very young people to develop. Our priority is that all students are safe and happy.

We also provide quality language lessons in French and English in very small groups during the camp.
