Casa Xelajú (shay-la-Hoo') is a socially-responsible educational institute in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala promoting cross-cultural understanding through its Spanish, Quiche languages and cultural programs, social projects, internship program, volunteer work and travel services.

We an accredited teaching institution in Guatemala, and therefore offer programs designed to earn college credits during a semester abroad in Guatemala and a special high school program. We also have a library of books in Spanish and English, and plenty of videos to support our language programs.

We can place you in a homestay family, where you will live close to the Guatemalan spirit, or we can suggest hotels and other options here in Quetzaltenango. We have tours to many wonderful places in Guatemala, and we have seasoned multi-lingual guides to assure your experience is a good one.
