Technology Career Diploma / Certification Programs:
At CDI School of Technology, we offer our students industry-recognized, focused curriculum that utilizes the latest in software and computer applications.
- Graphic Design Diploma Program:
This five-term program will help you to build a skill set that complements your artistic talents so you can successfully launch a rewarding and creative career as a graphic designer. You will focus on learning techniques used in both traditional and computer graphic design, including design, colour theory, drawing, and typography, as well as the standard software used in the industry. You’ll learn to design for advertising, corporate branding, publications, packaging, and websites. After you graduate, you can transition into the professional realm with a portfolio that showcases both your creative flare and impressive skills.
Career opportunities exist in marketing agencies, graphic design firms, and advertising companies. Newspapers, magazines, professional printers and web development companies also require graphic designers.
- Network & Database Administrator Diploma Program:
This program is based on industry certification requirements determined by Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA. It will develop your technical skills in network installation, maintenance and management as well as implementation, and operating computer services. The program will train you to administer and support database users on networked computer systems and prepare you for a career in this growing field. You will participate in a 200-hour work placement program (internship) to gain real-world experience.
- Network & Internet Security Specialist:
This program will prepare you to plan, implement, administer, support and secure networked computer systems and their users. It covers all aspects of implementation, and operating computer services, which are rapidly growing areas in the IT industry. It will also prepare for certification exams in Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Network+, A+, and Security+ certifications, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). In addition to developing a solid foundation in programming skills, you will participate in a 200-hour work placement (internship) program.
- Programmer Analyst / Internet Solutions Developer Diploma Program:
This program is designed for students wishing to pursue a career maintaining and developing software solutions and applications, in positions such as Programmer Analyst, Computer Programmer, and Software Development Programmer. The program focuses on preparing students to analyze business needs and design solutions; prepare, write, manage and troubleshoot programming code, and maintain and update existing programming code. You will be trained to use Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, SQL Server, Microsoft Visual C# .NET, OOP, OOD, Microsoft Office, HTML, XML, Script, ASP.NET, Visio, ADO.NET, and Web Services. In the last phase of the program, you will focus on developing skills in Object-Oriented Programming using either Java or C++. You will also participate in a 200-hour work experience placement (internship) program.
