Thistlesound Music School, Singapore:
ThistleSound Music School is based in Singapore and offers music lessons to children from 18 months old. We give classes in guitar, violin, piano, flute as well as vocal training. We incorporate the internationally-recognised ABRSM syllabus from the UK into our music courses. We have splashed color around our music studios to make them to create a lively and fun atmosphere for learning. Students have access to a well-stocked library and ipod listening stations where they can plug in to music from the great composers as well as soundtracks, operas, musicals and animations. What a great way to cultivate and further enhance one's love for music!

Piano Course
Age Group: 4 years old and above
Time Duration: 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and 90mins
Course Duration: 45 Lessons per year
Grades: Piano Discovery (Beginner), ABRSM Grade 1 – Piano Diploma
Students will:
-acquire the necessary skills and the correct technique to enjoy piano playing.
-experience an all rounded music education with fun filled ear training activities, solfege singing and rhythmic exercises.
-understand and appreciate the different genres of music ranging from baroque, classical, romantic and modern by different composers around the world.
-be able to execute the correct style for a particular composer and to create different tone color for different period of music.
-develop the confidence and the necessary skills to perform solo or in groups.
-read and learn music more effortlessly with good sight-reading skills.
-listen with better understanding and to appreciate music.
-enjoy the art of Music Making.
* Piano course is available for buddy classes using keyboards (group of 2) or individual.
Guitar Course
Guitar has always been regarded as a popular instrument due to its role in accompanying singers; being a solo instrument or being part of a band.
Age Group: 7 years old and above (This course is very popular among adults!)
Time Duration: 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and 90mins
Course Duration: 45 Lessons per year
Grades: Guitar Discovery (Beginner), ABRSM Grade 1 – Guitar Diploma
Students will:
-learn proper sitting posture / sitting position and how it helps in the performances
-learn to play chords by strumming or learn to play melodies by plucking the strings.
-explore music from different genres ranging from classical, folk, jazz, blues and pop.
-develop the confidence and the necessary skills to perform solo or in groups.
-read and learn music more effortlessly with good sight-reading skills.
-listen with better understanding and to appreciate music.
-enjoy the art of Music Making.
* Guitar course is available for buddy classes (group of 2 to 3) or individual.
Flute Course
Flute for Children to Teenagers
Age Group : 9 years old and above
Time Duration: 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and 90mins
Course Duration: 45 Lessons per year
Grades: Flute Discovery (Beginner), ABRSM Grade 1 – Flute Diploma
Students will:
- Learn the proper breathing technique and support
- Be able to control the volume of air, speed and direction using different embouchure
- Develop finger dexterity for different pitches-world.
- Master a variety of articulation by using tonguing, controlled from the abdominal support
- Create different volume and timbre of tone
- Be able to listen with better understanding and to appreciate music
- Develop the confidence and the necessary skills to perform solo or in groups.
- Enjoy the art of Music Making.
Violin Course
Age Group: 3 years old and above
Time Duration: 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and 90mins
Course Duration: 45 Lessons per year
Grades: ABRSM Grade 1 – Violin Diploma
Violin Discovery (Beginner)
Students will:

-be able to develop the different stylistic interpretation for different musical styles.
-develop the confidence and the necessary skills to perform solo or in groups.
-be able to work with different musicians in ensemble work.
-read and learn music more effortlessly with the good sight-reading skill.
-be able to play in tune and develop good pitch relativity.
-listen with better understanding and to appreciate music.
