The Beacon School:
The Beacon School is an independent, non-profit, co-educational K - 8 international school in Taguig in Metro Manila. Our school is modeled upon the best international educational practice. We are committed to providing a global education of the highest quality, rooted in an understanding of Filipino culture and traditions, to children of all nationalities. The Beacon School is the first educational institution in the Philippines to receive authorization by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Switzerland to offer the Middle Years Program (IB-MYP, Grades 6-8). With the authorization of its Primary Years Program (IB-PYP, PS-Grade 5) in 2005, and now its IB-MYP Program in 2007, the Beacon School has the distinction of being the first and only fully IBO authorized educational institution in the Philippines for every level of its academic programmes.

The Beacon School is authorized by the International Baccalaureate Office (IBO) to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for pre-school to Grade 5 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) which runs from Grade 6 to Grade 8 in our current facility.

The Beacon School has also been recognized and validated by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) for our Elementary School Programme (Pre-school - Grade 8), making it easier for students to transfer into Beacon from local Philippine Schools and vice-versa. 

Our Aim & Mission:
At Beacon School, we aim to produce children who are actively engaged in the pursuit of knowledge, and who are confident and capable of creative and critical thought. The school is dedicated to enabling students to think critically and creatively by establishing a strong foundation in academics, the humanities, spiritual education, and physical education.

In our mission, the Beacon School shall endeavor to maximize the potential of every child through an active partnership between children, teachers, parents and trustees.  We aim to achieve this by providing a positive, secure and caring environment where individual differences are acknowledged and appreciated, and by the promotion of mutual respect, understanding and effective communication between home and school.

Education Programmes:
- Kindergarten programme:  This is based on the I.B. Primary Years Programme
- Elementary School programme:  This is also based on the I.B. Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP, PS-Grade 5)
- Middle School programme:   At Grades Six, Seven and Eight, our programme is based on, and follows, the IB Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP, Grades 6-8)

* Learning Support:  The school’s mission to provide high quality education for students includes meeting special needs of students where possible.
* Reading Resource Teacher:  The reading resource teacher is responsible for supporting the teaching of Language Arts, particularly in the area of Reading, in our Kindergarten to Grade 5 classes.
* Counselling:  The counsellors conduct individual and group counseling sessions to help students in the different aspects of their school life, particularly in academics, personal, psycho-emotional and social matters.
