Português et cetera, the Portuguese Language and Culture School situated in Lisbon is run by Fernanda Ferreira PhD. Fernanda is a writer, as well as an experienced teacher of Portuguese language and culture and researcher of Portuguese folklore and traditions.

Individual Lessons:
Intensive Course of 30 hours. This course consists of a lesson (1h 30min) every day for a period of 4 weeks. Course of 2 or 3 lessons of 1h 30min a week for a period of 4 weeks.

Group Courses:
Intensive Course of 30 hours. Options are one lesson (1h 30), 2 lessons or 3 lessons every day for a period of 4 weeks. Group of 2-4 students.

Conversation Club:
Students often have lessons just until they learn the basic rules of Portuguese grammar. The Conversation Club is a language workshop to practise oral communication. Taking part in the Conversation Club is a way of continuing to learn to speak without formal lessons. The subjects and activities are varied and conform to the interests and dynamics of the group. We are open to your ideas and suggestions. Improve your pronunciation, increase your vocabulary, practise the rules you have already learnt!

Join the Conversation Club! The Conversation Club will be held once a week, for 2 hours, in the late afternoon. It will be a group activity (4-6 students) with a coordinator.

Business Portuguese:
It is recognised that good language skills are important in the world of business. Now more than ever communication has become a formula for success. Using the appropriate form of speech for different situations is a major linguistic competency even in our native language. Communication within the company or communication with other companies or organisations. You will, if necessary, review language rules, especially speaking and writing skills specifically for professional purposes. Improve communication in your working relationships! Improve the level of communication in your company!

Portuguese Student Workshops:
To understand better what you read and to write what you think! People talk a lot about illiteracy. What is illiteracy? It's a product of a life dominated by mass communication. The absence of a grandfather to tell stories, of a mother to read a book at bedtime. The omnipresent television that devastates the home. And then the schoolteacher who cannot do everything! One thing is sure: if you don't understand what you read how can you verbalise what you think? To play a game you need to learn the rules. Language is a game.

Let's begin?! Later you will be able to get on well with reading and writing with no problems and maybe even with enthusiasm! These courses aim to help the Portuguese student having difficulty with the Portuguese language. It may include content from Primary, Secondary or University programmes, but it is aimed rather at a more literary approach with material which will prepare the student to read and write a variety of texts.
