Playorena located in the heart of Istanbul is the result of over twenty-five years of development. The founders of this wonderful playgroup and preschool for international children up to 6 years old created a developmentally appropriate recreational program based on the premise that self-acceptance is a major key to growth and development. They were also very aware that young children have a strong innate need for all different kinds of movement and motion. The Playorena program is designed to take toddlers step by step through the stages of early developmental stages while educating parents.

At PLAYORENA Each element of curriculum, environment, and staffing is a reflection of the underlying educational philosophy and psychology. Children possess a combination of social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs and skills. The goals of the Playorena program and environment are aimed at each of these developmental areas. At Playorena children are given a chance to practice their developing skills in a format that they love (to judge by their joyous faces)! They will repeat a new skill over and over again, because the experience is fun. Playorena is fun!

The philosophy of the Playorena program is developmentally appropriate and child-oriented, encompassing the development of the whole child. At Playorena, the program meets the needs of the child as opposed to the child being made to meet the demands of the program. The Playorena program reflects this philosophy by providing an environment where each child can enjoy the thrill of reaching his or her potential. Most importantly, each child is encouraged to become an enthusiastic learner.Children need to be active and creative explorers, learning at their own pace and in ways that are safe for them.

Each Daily Lesson Plan Includes:
1) Circle Time with original songs and finger plays, creative movement activities and story suggestions.
2) Messy Table with cooking fun recipes, hands-on science experiments and terrific tactile textures.
3) Cut & Color Table to exercise small muscles, encourage left to right eye movement and promote language skills.
4) Creative Art with emphasis on process not product, emphasis on creative expression and no cookie cutter end products
5) Dramatic Play with dramatic play environment ideas, creative role play to promote self and social development
6) Games and Activities - movement with a purpose & Playorena playtime incluiding yoga & music & rhythm as well as group games and activities.

Playgroup for children 3 months to 5 years; Preschool for children from 3 to 6 years. We follow an English Curriculum with English as the main language of instruction.
