Year 7 and 8:
Each Year 7 and 8 student takes the following course of study:
English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Health, Technology, Art, Christian Education and Languages.
Some of these subjects are taught by their core teachers, while others are taught by specialist teachers, using specialist facilities.
Year 9:
At Year 9 students follow a programme of study that includes both their core subjects – English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health, Christian Education and Languages and also a rotation of subjects – Art, TIM, Food and Textiles Technology.
These subjects are taken on a two term rotation. We do this to ensure that each of our students has experience of a range of subjects. This will ensure that they can find and develop interests.
Year 10:
At this level the core subjects are again the following: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health, Christian Education and Languages. The major difference is that at this level students choose 2 options from a range of subjects that will enable them to pursue specific interests. When selecting their subjects students should consider:
i) their abilities, strengths and weaknesses
ii) their interests
These subjects include:
* Textiles
* Food Technology
* Text & Information Management (TIM)
* French
* E-Counting
* Art
Senior School:
From Year 10 on subjects and courses vary according to student needs. Christian education is compulsory at all levels. We use an extensive testing programme to help identify strengths and learning needs and to set goals for our students. This ensures that individual needs are catered for and enables us to bring out the best in each student. Individual progress is reviewed and updated as goals are achieved.
Subjects including English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, Health, Technology, Art, Christian Education and Languages are taught by highly qualified and dedicated teachers.

their career choices and yet still have the necessary subjects.

week. There are no free study periods allocated.
* At Year 12, English remains compulsory.

* A science subject is strongly recommended for all students.
Most employers will want someone with proven skills in English and maths. Communication skills rate high on this list. You will have a better chance of winning a job of your choosing if you pass these subjects with Merits or Excellence.
When applying for a position you will take your Record of Learning qualifications sheets with you so your prospective employer can see clearly your strengths and weaknesses in each subject.
The choices you make now will have a huge impac
t on the job or career choice you may have when you leave school. Plan carefully for the future. Use the templates on the following page to aid subject choice.
