The Academy of Saint Xavier is a college prep. boarding school program for boys in grades 7-12, located in Storm Lake, Iowa. Every effort is made to accommodate student's individual interests and to help celebrate the cultural activities of students attending from other countries.

Our purpose is to provide an excellent academic environment with individual attention as well as to assist the student in the development of their faith and character.

Iowa is known throughout the United States for it's quality education, both public and private. St. Mary's School is one of Iowa's top private schools with a low student to teacher ratio (1:7), small class sizes (avg. 10) and safe, close school community. Xavier Academy students receive individual tutoring in any subjects they may need help with as well as individual attention during every evening session with their primary RA to ensure that they are on the path to success.

Students at Xavier will find that they will quickly make life long friendships with their classmates and advisors. The small school environment leads to students knowing everyone in the school and teachers knowing each student by name. Saint Mary's has a tremendous amount of Panther Pride, a community which all students become part of.

At Xavier Academy, residential life can best be compared to that of a fraternity. The residential dorms are located directly across the street from Saint Mary's School in a large, Victorian house, similar to the fraternity houses located on college campuses. There are two different styles of rooms available: a large dormitory room which can house up to ten students and several semi-private rooms which house two students each.

All rooms are supplied with comfortable beds, dressers, wardrobes and study tables. Many of the younger students opt for the large dormitory room, giving them an opportunity become close friends with their classmates. The upperclassmen usually take the semi-private rooms. The rooms are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so the earlier you sign up, the better your chance of getting your choice of rooms.

Recreational opportunities abound with Storm Lake, known for sailing, fishing and watersports as well as the close proximity to metro areas such as Sioux City, Des Moines and Minneapolis.
