Dyslexia Assessment & Intervention:
Carried out in groups of no more than 3 learners, the assessment forms the core and basis for intervention of individual
learners. Our learners are then, placed within the mainstream systems, both private and international and have coped marvelously with our after school intervention programmes. Learners aged between 6 -16 years are accepted into this programme upon successful completion of our interview process.
Early Intervention:
Carried out in small groups of no more than 4 learners, children aged 2-8 years are accepted for enrolment into this programme. Difficulties catered to include: Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Speech delays, Developemental delays, Asperger's syndrome, William's syndrome, Fragile -X syndrome and other mild to moderate learning difficulties Each child will have an individualised education plan (IEP) developed based on the interview and detailed observations in the first few weeks of intervention. These are then modified as necessary to maximise potentials and promote learning in a fun, yet structured and organised manner.

Study Skills Training:
This course is aimed at making students more effective learners in and outside the classroom. Skills trained include, discrimination and sequential thinking, problem solving, memory enhancement, analytical and critical thinking, concentration building and creativity in thought.
Early Childhood Parenting Skills:
This programme is aimed at first time parents who want to gain a higher level of confidence and learn 21st century parenting techniques. Suitable for individual and groups or no more than 5 couples. Course is run once per week and includes assignments, lectures, discussions and role playing.
The Rafelsia Homeschool programme:
The Rafelsia Homeschoolers consist of an elite body of learners who are highly motivated and readily meet the challenges on today's world. This body of diverse learners progress individually at their own pace and enjoy the company of peers who are high achievers each with their own different style of learning.
Here at The Rafelsia Homeschool, we embrace diversity in learning and believe that education is the RIGHT of ALL children and not a priviledge available to few. We believe that it is in welcoming all children and guiding them appropriately to match their individual learning styles that the true genius in every child can be brought out. We follow the Switched-On-Schoolhouse an ICT based homeschool programme with our learners.
The environment matches closely to the home environment so as to extend the highest level of security and comfort that all learners crave. It is in dealing with primary needs and developing them that secondary needs such as academia are enhanced.
Our learners offer a variety of subjects which include Art, Music, Math, Reading, Spelling, ICT, Appreciation of literature, Science and Social Studies. In their free time, learners engage in activities which enhance their thinking, analytical and problem solving skills. We offer them a wide variety of games such as Boggle, Scrabble, Chess, Monopoly, Sudoku and word search challenges are fun and exciting for our learners and competition is at its highest during these times. Activities such as Sewing, Choral reading, Drama, Salsa dancing, Plant care and Baking to bring out hidden passions in our learners and provide them with opportunities to engage in hands-on activities which they normally would not think of trying out for fun yet are highly rewarding and satisfying to the soul.
Our dynamic team of staff, assures parents that their children succeed at every level of learning. A consultant learning therapist is at hand to deal with any delays in learning that might exist and is ready to provide learners with additional learning opportunities where necessary.
